Tallulah Gorge Hiking Trails

Georgia's Tallulah Gorge State Park is an amazing place to hike. One of North America's oldest geological features, the deep chasm known as Tallulah Gorge was formed by the Tallulah River eroding quartzite rocks. Tallulah Gorge is over two miles long with depths of over 1,000 feet and the flowing Tallulah River drops more than 600 feet in elevation as it travels through Tallulah Gorge.  Five major waterfalls make hiking Tallulah Gorge spectacular! Many Tallulah Gorge hiking trails with breath taking scenic over-looks are open to the public.  With a free require permit, obtained from the Jane Hurt Interpretive Center, you can also access Tallulah Gorge Floor Hike.
